What the Khans are up to in 2016

Even with the likes of Ranveer Singh and Varun Dhawan showing a lot of promise in the last year, you cannot simply ignore the Khans. They have been ruling the industry since years, and their films rank amongst the highest grossers of all time. While Aamir didn’t have a release in 2015, Salman’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo opened to packed houses. Shah Rukh’s Dilwale too has earned a lot of money both in India and overseas. Saif may have had a bad year, but his next release should put him back in the game. Here’s what the Khans are up to in the coming year: 

 

 

Salman Khan

 

 

While Salman had two releases, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo in 2015, he is working on just one film this year. Sultan is being produced by Yash Raj Films, and Khan plays a wrestler in the movie. There is a lot of speculation about who will play the heroine and the name hasn’t been confirmed yet. 

Aamir Khan 

 

 

Aamir’s last release, PK hit cinemas in December 2014. The perfectionist didn’t have a release in 2015, but his next Dangal will be out this Christmas. Considering the festival is very lucky for the actor, the film will surely do well at the box office.

Shah Rukh Khan

 

 

Shah Rukh’s past two films have been entertainers Though Happy New Year and Dilwale made money, they weren’t loved by many. Everyone is expecting the actor to do more content-oriented films and his next two releases, and Fan and Raees look promising.

Saif Ali Khan

 

 

The Nawab is going through a rough patch in his career as Humshakals, Happy Ending and Phantom were box office disasters. It helps that his next is Vishal Bhardwaj’s Rangoon. The director had given Saif the role of Langda Tyagi in Omkara and we all know how that worked out for Saif.
