In 2013, Bollywood witnessed it’s first zombie film – Go Goa Gone, a film that made the right noise around. And, now Kollywood is ready with something similar. The film we are talking about is Miruthan. Although the concept of a social/biological thriller is barely explored, it is not new to Tamil cinema. We’ve previously seen a similar theme in films like E and Dasavatharam. This year will witness a similar film, but featuring zombies! The film has been directed by Shakti Soundar Rajan of Naaigal Jaakirathai fame.
The trailer hints at the basic plot of a life-threatening virus that transforms humans into zombies spreading at a rapid pace. The only person who can save the world from this apocalypse is the protagonist – Jayam Ravi. Lakshmi Menon will be seen playing the female lead in this film.With sleek special effects and high production values, the trailer of the film shows promise, making Miruthan one of the highly-anticipated films of 2016.
Jayam Ravi has been already riding high on the success of Thani Oruvan and Bhooloham. Will Miruthan work in his favor as well? We’ll have to wait and watch. You can watch the trailer of the film here:
